The Innokin Sensis Review

Innokin Sensis
Reading about the Innokin Sensis for the first time had me excited. Innokin boasts that their new mode Coil+ can “automatically primes the coil at the end of each puff by drawing in more liquid and reducing carbon on the coil. Coil+ does this by running at 40% of your selected wattage for 0.4s at the end of each vape. Allowing for a more flavour-rich hit by resetting the coil, guaranteed to satisfy your taste buds”. Naturally, when any new type of tech hits the vaping market, we’re keen to try it out to see if they’ve overpromised and underdelivered or hit the nail on the head.
It’s not the only new feature that Innokin promise with refresh modes and some technical information about frequencies that we will put below so that you can try to decipher it for yourself.
“FØ uses alternating current (AC) to produce a waveform that runs continuously while you vape. This is possible by sending an electrical output in a much more precise and efficient way through the coil.
You can adjust the hertz output to match your coil and e-liquid. When properly matched to your atomizer, FØ will extend coil life, provide smoother heat transfer, and even enhance specific flavours in e-liquid. AC will heat your e-liquid at a gradual rate, ensuring that it does not burn and produce a bad taste, so many of us have experienced”.
Does it pass the basic functionality tests?
It’s an overwhelming yes. Let's talk practicality, first of all, providing a 3000 mAh battery means that this device doesn’t run out on you in a few hours like some devices out there at the moment. It makes the most of USB-Type C technology for quick charging. With 4 different coil options, this device will work for absolute beginners. Having a coil rated for 9-12w, to people looking for a little bit more out of their device with a wattage rating of 25-35w.
Not only this but Innokin include a 510 adapter. This means you can make the most of their new tech on your older tanks, Alongside more standard features like airflow control. An unusual move and one I’m not aware of occurring with any other Pod device.
How does the Innokin Sensis feel in the hand?
Feels good, it's comfortable enough and really that is all you can ask for.
Cool, but how does it taste?
It tastes amazing. Innokin has outdone themselves here, this is among the best tasting pods I’ve ever tried. I’m not sure whether or not the refresh mode makes a huge difference or if it’s pure placebo, but it does SEEM to make a difference. In short, this device, new features and tech or not is worth trying on that basis alone.

Design and Build Quality
The Innokin Sensis comes in 5 different colours. They’re all very clean and a world away from the types of designs they’ve been doing with the proton mini for example. A major improvement.
I always think that devices should look clean first and foremost, and avoid any designs that are too crazy, it serves the industry better and has no danger of appealing to children.

Innokin Sensis Modes and Find-F
There are new modes here and old, so let’s take an in-depth look at what’s going on.
Power
Very simple, you choose your wattage or voltage setting and the device will give you that amount of power.
Coil+ Mode
The Innokin Sensis’ Coil+ mode ‘primes’ the coil at the end of each puff by running for an extra 0.4s after your puff at 40% of your selected power.
Innokin claims by doing so it draws in more liquid and reduces carbon on the coil: ‘Allowing for a more flavour-rich hit ‘.
Refresh Mode
Refresh is a new feature that allows you to manually refresh the coil between hits to provide better wicking, bringing in flavour to extend the coils life. Like Coil+, Refresh does this by running at 40% of your set wattage, drawing in more liquid.”
Innokin Sensis – Find-F (F0 Mode) In the menu there is a locked item that you cannot access without inputting a set sequence of keys (+, – and fire button).
When you figure out what the code is, or when Innokin announce what the code is, the menu then permanently unlocks, and you get the F0 Mode.
Innokin say the reason it locked the mode is because it wants you to experience vaping without it before being able to use it. That way you will fully appreciate the full extent great it is.
When you select F0, you can then select the frequency you wish to use (hz), that replaces the volts in the bottom right of the home screen, and you can now set your wattage like normal.
Innokin say F0 is powered by Alternating Current Mode: It produces a waveform output at the selected frequency. F0 creates and harness a new form of thermodynamic heating for vaping devices which is the first of its kind. F0 extends coil longevity, and you will enjoy more flavours over time”.
the best f0 frequency depends on your coil and the e-liquid used. explore the f0 function and find the best frequency for your vape.
Battery and Charging
The Innokin Sensis doesn’t have a battery percentage indicator which is a little strange. However, as the battery bar goes down it changes colour depending on the battery's level.
- Green = Above 50%
- Yellow = 20% – 50%
- Red = Below 20%
Additionally, if you access the ‘Secondary Screen’ it tells you the batteries current voltage. As I mentioned earlier, the Sensis has a 3,000mAh battery which is really good for an internal battery.
Innokin justifies the internal battery by stating: “We can control the quality of the battery by making it internal. There are also more safety features installed with an internal battery. Safety has always been and will continue to be one of our top priorities.” This is what I like to hear from a device making company personally. Safety of the consumer has to be the number one priority and those of us working in the industry owe them that, well played Innokin.
