Vaping FAQ

In 2015, Public Health England (PHE) published an expert independent review (1) concluding that:

- The current best estimate is that e-cigarettes are around 95% less harmful than smoking

- Nearly half the population (44.8%) don’t realise e-cigarettes are much less harmful than smoking

- There is no evidence so far that e-cigarettes are acting as a route into smoking for children  or non-smokers

This statement was reviewed and confirmed in 2019 (2) : “Combining EC (the most popular source of support used by smokers in the general population), with stop smoking service support (the most effective type of support), should be a recommended option available to all smokers.”

All of our products have been emission tested in line with the requirements of the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD), and notified where appropriate. None of our products contain substances banned by the TPD.

Contrary to common belief, the optimal nicotine level is not directly related to the number of cigarettes smoked per day.

Nicotine in an electronic cigarette has two purposes: to fill the craving effect during the smoker’s withdrawal, and to mimic the throat sensation associated with cigarette smoking. The level of nicotine used must therefore meet these two functions.

A recent study suggests that it is advisable to start up with the highest nicotine level you can tolerate. (1)

The Royal College of Midwives advises pregnant smokers to switch to vaping (1):

- “E-cigarettes contain some toxins, but at far lower levels than found in tobacco smoke. If a pregnant woman who has been smoking chooses to use an e-cigarette (vaping) and it helps her to quit smoking and stay smokefree, she should be supported to do so.”

- “If a woman has switched completely to vaping and is not smoking at all, she should be recorded as a non-smoker.”

- “Based on the available evidence on e-cigarette safety, there is no reason to believe that use of an e-cigarette has any adverse effect on breastfeeding. ‘Vaping’ should continue if it is helpful to quitting smoking and staying smoke free.”

Age Verification

It is illegal for us to sell any electronic cigarette or e-liquid product that contains nicotine to anyone under the age of 18. This is why we require identification from anyone who places an order with us. You need to enter your information exactly as it appears on your driver’s licence, electoral roll or UK credit/debit card – as we will need to verify your age before we send out any products

We use an external credit reference agency to verify your age. They will get this information from your mobile phone number, credit/debit card, electoral roll or council tax. This is purely an ID check and not a credit check – so your credit score will not be affected.

If we are unable to verify your age, a member of the team will contact you via email to verify your age via another method.
