Shortfill Vs Longfill
Shortfill Vs Longfill
"You may have seen longfill and shortfill e-liquid on our website and might have been confused as to the difference between these two. But what is the difference? Who are they for? Both of these types of e-liquid are more cost effective when compared to a standard 10ml e-liquid, however there is slightly more effort involved, with both shortfills and longfills requiring you to do a certain amount of mixing yourself. That being said, it's not difficult to get started. We’ve put together this guide to help you decide which one is most suited to your needs.

What is a shortfill e-liquid?

A shortfill is a 50ml bottle of e-liquid that you can vape at 0mg or add a 10ml nicotine shot and vape at 3mg. Due to the size of the bottle and the ratio of liquid, you can only add one 10ml nicotine shot to the product making it 3mg. Remember, once you have added the nicotine shot, shake the bottle well to ensure it is fully mixed into the flavour. This type of liquid is usually more suitable for cloud chasing devices which create thicker clouds, more vapour, and a fuller flavour. You will find that this e-liquid is usually higher in VG and all T-Juice shortfills come in a ratio of 60/40

What is a Longfill e-liquid?

Longfill e-liquids come as 20ml of flavouring in a 60ml bottle. This allows you to put as many nicotine shots and as much PG/VG in as you’d like. This gives you complete control over what strength and ratio you have in your e-liquid. Longfills can be made up to 3mg, 6mg, 9mg or 12mg nicotine strengths whereas shortfills can only reach 3mg. What do you need to do? Well once you’ve got your order, remove the top cap and pour in your nicotine shots. After that fill the rest up with the PG/VG, once you’ve shaken it to make sure all of the liquid is mixed, it is ready to vape. If you need help deciding what to order, there are bundles available on our T-Juice website. It gives you everything you need to make a 50/50 e-liquid in strengths 3mg, 6mg, 9mg, and 12mg.

How are these similar?

Both types of e-liquids require some element of DIY, whilst not being full DIY e-liquids. They will come with nicotine shots, and in the case of Longfill base liquid so that you can make up 60ml of e-liquid. You’ll need to pour the nicotine shot and base liquid in yourself to make them complete. We have some guides below to illustrate how this works.

How are they different?

The main difference between a shortfill and a longfill is how much flavour they contain within the bottle and what you need to add to them to make them a complete product:
  • A shortfill is a 60ml bottle containing a 50ml flavour base.
  • A longfill is a 60ml bottle containing a 20ml flavour base.
A shortfill is a fixed nicotine strength of 3mg and our shortfills are fixed with a higher ratio of VG. Longfills are much more versatile. You can have them in any strength you want from 0mg to 12mg, and the ratio is up to you. If you want 80% VG this can be done, or if you want a 50/50 this is also possible.

Which do I need?

It’s very simple; with shortfills being limited to 3mg and higher ratios of VG, they are better for more powerful cloud-chasing style devices. Longfill being more versatile can be for anyone. If you need a higher ratio of VG for your high-powered dripping device, then they’re perfect to get exactly what you want. However, if you need a 50/50 e-liquid in 12mg you can get this with a longfill as well. Check out our bundles for shortfills & longfills to get a great value e-liquid today."
