Choosing an E-Liquid

One of the most crucial aspects to get right when switching to vaping getting the right E-liquid for you. This can mean many things, getting the right PG/VG ratio, getting the right nicotine strength, getting the right flavour… Sound confusing? Let’s make it simple!

Getting the right PG/VG ratio?

The first thing you should understand is that aside from the flavouring and nicotine, E-liquid contains two other ingredients, Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerine (VG). The PG/VG ratio of your e-liquid will dictate, the thickness of the liquid, and the amount of vapour it produces. You’ll see on most bottles of E-liquid a ratio, like 50/50, which means that it has an equal amount of PG/VG in it. 70/30 would indicate a higher amount of VG. For new starters we recommend using a 50/50 ratio as it is better for the devices you’ll typically be using.

Getting the right nicotine strength?

This is very important. E-Liquid comes in a variety of different strengths from 0mg (meaning no nicotine) to 20mg, the maximum allowed by European regulations. The important thing to remember is that nicotine isn’t any more harmful than caffeine, so it’s not absolutely crucial to be at 0mg as soon as possible. The most important thing is having the right strength so that you don’t smoke! For that reason, we recommend that anyone smoking above ten cigarettes a day start with at least 12mg of nicotine. You can always switch to a stronger or lower amount if you feel this isn’t working for you!

Getting the right flavour?

Well this ones all about you, as every one’s tastes are different! The important thing to get right is having a flavour that you can vape all day and not get sick of it! You might love the taste of strawberry custard, but after a few hours maybe not. Take some time and have a think about what you might want to taste all day, new starters in our experience tend to have success with tobacco and menthol flavours, even ones with aniseed. This is because they feel more similar in your mouth to a cigarette.

This is the most common form of e-liquid that you would have seen in shops or online. These are available in various PG/VG ratios (all T-Juice 10mls come in 50/50) and various nicotine strengths including 0mg, 3mg, 6mg, 12mg & 18mg. These are suitable for any tanks and are the most commonly used e-liquids.

Nicotine Salts are the perfect type of e-liquid for almost all types of vapers, particularly those that are struggling to quit with more traditional forms of nicotine liquids. Nicotine Salts e-liquids are unique and increasingly popular with vapers because they can deliver nicotine without giving the harsh sensation typically associated with higher levels of nicotine in e-liquid.

Nicotine Salts mimic the same type of nicotine found in tobacco leaf. They have a reduced PH level (Pop up explaining PH levels) compared to freebase nicotine, making them less harsh to vape at higher concentrations of nicotine. This means that you will be getting the full flavour experience of our e-liquids, even with higher nicotine concentrations. That being said, they’re not particularly suitable for large cloud chasing or sub ohm devices with lots of power.

Finally, because of the strength you might actually find yourself vaping less and needing to less often.

Shortfill is a 50ml bottle of e-liquid that you can vape at 0mg or add a 10ml nicotine shot to and vape at 3mg. Remember to shake the bottle after adding the nic-shot! This type of liquid is usually more suitable for cloud chasing devices. Which create thicker clouds, more vapour, and a fuller flavour. You will find that this liquid is usually higher in VG. All T-Juice shortfills come in a ratio of 60/40.

They are great for vapers looking for larger quantities of e-liquid at a slightly lower price.

Longfill e-liquids are 20ml of flavouring in a 60ml bottle, so you can enough nicotine shots and PG/VG to make a finished 60ml e-liquid in the nicotine strength and PG/VG ratio you want! Longfills can be made up to 6, 9 or 12mg nicotine strengths whereas Shortfills can only reach 3mg. So, in that sense its very beginner friendly!

What do you need to do? Well once you’ve got your order, pop the top cap off, pour all the liquids in that came with your order, shake, and vape. If you need help deciding what to order, there are bundles and a mixing guide as shown below.

Much like the name suggests, this is an e-liquid you make yourself using one of our premium concentrates. You start with the flavour concentrate and then add as many nicotine shots, PG and VG as you need. This is a fully customisable experience and works out to pence per 10ml rather than pounds. In our store you can find everything you need to get started, concentrates, PG, VG and nicotine shots

An example mix might be 100ml of liquid, 50/50 PG/VG ratio at 6mg. You would need 15ml of concentrate, 35ml of PG, 20ml of VG and 30ml of Nicotine shots. All you have to do is, pour them into the bottle, shake and let them steep (time to take on the flavour) for at least a couple of days. You can mix flavours if you feel like there’s two you would want to work together and be completely in control of your vaping experience.

Nicotine shots are 10ml liquids made up of PG, VG, and nicotine. T-Juice nic-shots come with 18mg of nicotine. They are designed to be added to Shortfill, Longfill or concentrates to turn them into a finished e-liquid that’s ready to vape. You will require different amounts of nicotine shots depending on what you are trying to create. For example, by adding four nicotine shots to a Longfill you will create a finished e-liquid with a 12mg nicotine strength.

Please note that there is only space in the shortfill for one nicotine shot and they can only be made up to 3mg – take a look at our Longfills if you’re looking for higher nicotine strengths. Nicotine shots are not suitable to be vaped alone as they contain no flavouring.
